The Greek leftist daily newspaper „I Avgi“, which actively supports the government of Alexis Tsipras, published today a satirical cartoon that depicts the German finance minister in a military uniform addressing himself to the Greeks after the beginning of the negotiations with the Greek government about the debt issue and making allusions to the Holocaust. Schäuble appears saying that they (the Germans) “insist on (getting) the soap from the fat of the Greeks” and “discuss about the fertilizer from their own ashes”.
This is not the first time that a Greek newspaper publishes a cartoon that trivializes the Holocaust. Last summer, the leftist newspaper “Efimerida ton Syntakton” published a cartoon on its front page depicting Wolfgang Schäuble with a big penis in his hand shouting “Deutschland über alles, ein [sic] Nation, ein Führer, Dachau, Belsen [sic]”.
